This template is intended for internal IT software products at an electric utility, following Agile best practices (with flexibility for some Waterfall processes). The Data Architecture defines how data is structured, sourced, governed, and flows across the enterprise to support business capabilities and strategic objectives. It ensures alignment with enterprise principles, regulatory requirements, and operational needs by documenting logical models, data lifecycle, quality controls, and security measures. This foundation enables consistent, trustworthy, and well-governed data usage across applications, processes, and stakeholders.
